The slyness of his work is absolutely vital in ensuring the film's climax pays off as well as it does.

Who Will Win: Troy Kotsur (Coda)

Troy Kotsur has been picking up major steam in the later stages of Oscar season, with major recent wins at SAG and BAFTA allowing him to snatch the frontrunner spot from Smit-McPhee.

Kotsur's win would also be historic as the first for a deaf male actor, and Oscar voters typically love to rally behind a heart-warming winner's narrative. Tough to argue with this one.
