8. Ke Huy Quan, Brendan Fraser & Michelle Yeoh's Moving Speeches

You'd need a heart of stone not to be at least mildly moved by the acceptance speeches from most of the acting winners this year.

For starters, Ke Huy Quan completed his epic comeback narrative with a Best Supporting Actor win for Everything Everywhere All at Once, where he thanked his 84-year-old mother as well as his Goonies co-star Jeff Cohen - who is also his entertainment lawyer - and begged viewers to keep their dreams alive.

Similarly fulfilling his own comeback, Brendan Fraser fended off fierce competition from Austin Butler to win the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in The Whale, complete with a wildly affecting speech where Fraser touched on his own struggles in recent years.

And finally there's Michelle Yeoh, who pipped Cate Blanchett to the Best Actress Oscar, and gave a stirring acceptance speech referring to both Asian representation and the place of middle-aged women in Hollywood. Yeoh said, "Ladies, don't let anybody ever tell you you're ever past your prime."
