Oscars: Ranking Every Best Animated Feature Film
3. Wall-E
Wall-E is the story of a mostly silent robot who falls in love after being on his own for years on an abandoned earth, and is then thrust into a race against time to save the last remnants of humanity left floating in space.
Using the most of its space setting to create Pixar's single most beautiful movie, Wall-E is a gorgeous reminder of what animation can really achieve, but doesn't just go for looks over substance. With its themes of environmentalism and humanism, it's also the most philosophical movie ever to win the Best Animated Feature statue.
It didn't have a tough road to victory - though good fun, neither Kung-Fu Panda nor Bolt are nearly on its level - but even if it was against the vast majority of films on this list, it would have no problem securing the win. The fact that it's not number one here is a testament to just how great the top two films are.
