PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 Gets Writers But Hasn't The Novelty Worn Off?

So far the Paranormal Activity franchise has grossed nearly $400 million, an astonishing $397 million of which is likely to have been profit as the two films to date have only cost around the $3 million mark to produce. Scary, indeed scarier than the actual films were. Great marketing or actual cinematic invention? Bit of a both, I'd say. Of course as long as this Paranormal Activity-fad continues, we can expect a new installment every Halloween. The series has basically overtaken that annual 'get together and be scared together' release date slot vacated by the Saw series. Bloody Disgusting are reporting that Christopher Landon (Disturbia, Blood & Chocolate) and Michal R. Perry have been hired to co-write the third installment, having already contributed to the first sequel's screenplay. I'm wondering, at what number do the general public get sick of this series? Hasn't the novelty worn off by now? No director has been announced yet.
