Paranormal Activity - The Ghost Dimension: 12 Ways It Ruins The Franchise

1. The Ending Is A Tease For Yet Another Sequel (Duh)

Indeed, the film ends with so much left up in the air: Toby can now walk the Earth and appears to bring Leila into the coven, which is pretty much just a cheeky way to set up another sequel if this film does well. It's particularly aggravating because the filmmakers promised that this would be the last film and give fans a concrete ending, but in reality, it's just set up another potential sequel. Sure, horror movie history has proven that final chapters of all kinds should be taken with a grain of salt, but this one really had the perfect opportunity to wrap things up neatly. It would've made more sense to have Toby become a human about 2/3 through the film and then wreak havoc on Earth for the third act, but instead it's yet another tease for another sequel, which audiences will hopefully deny Paramount by giving this one the cold shoulder, not that it needs to be a screaming success to earn it. Time will tell... Have you seen the "final" Paranormal Activity movie yet? What did you think? Shout it out in the comments!
