Pixar: Ranking Every Upcoming Film By Anticipation

2. Toy Story 4

The Good Dinosaur
Pixar

There's no denying that, of all of Pixar's films, the Toy Story franchise has remained its crown jewel to many people. Its characters are even more beloved today than they were twenty years ago, short films and television specials are still being produced, the core trilogy has been showered with critical praise and scored numerous Academy Awards and the third film remains Pixar's highest grossing production yet.

For many, Toy Story 3 served as a perfect send-off for the series and its characters, though it was hardly a surprise late in 2014 when Toy Story 4 was announced for 2017. It's easy to lament the idea of "another sequel" in a franchise that, for all intents and purposes, ended on a fantastic high note, but John Lasseter's enthusiasm has been infectious.

The franchise means everything to Pixar - and its fans, for that matter - and they'll undoubtedly be treating the sequel, which will focus on Woody and Buzz's quest to find Bo Peep, with the same level of care and dedication they've always given their films. While the film won't be out for a little under two years from now, expectations and anticipation are high that Pixar can continue the long-running franchise's winning streak.

Release Date: June 16th, 2017.
