Power Rangers: Every Major Character Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Zordon
Bryan Cranston gives a magnificent performance as former Red Ranger and current Ranger mentor Zordon. Far from the boring, monotone floating head of the TV series, Cranston imbues him with actual emotion, even frustration, as he implores the new heroes to stop Rita before it's too late.
There's also a welcome complexity to the character as he initially wishes to restore his own physical body, before selflessly deciding otherwise when the time calls for it. This is a win-win: Cranston gets an easy pay-day, and the film gets an A+ talent playing the father of the Power Rangers.
Best Moment: Zordon is never more awesome than in his thrilling opening flashback scene, where the Yellow Ranger dies in front of him, and he decides to sacrifice himself in order to defeat Rita, calling in a meteor strike that obliterates them both, and buries the Rangers' power coins deep in the ground.
It's a gritty, visually stunning set-up for the rest of the movie, and seeing Bryan Cranston appear in the movie in actual, human form is both weird and extremely cool.
