Predicting The 10 Highest Grossing Films Of 2015

4. Spectre ($900 million)

The much-publicised Sony Pictures leak revealed that the studio is incredibly worried about the ever-ballooning budget of the twenty-fourth Bond movie, with the in-production movie already costing more than expected. The producers have tried to calm the nerves, citing the (spoiler) rain-drenched finale is needed to make the film better, and thus more profitable - that worked last time, after all. However, they're operating on the assumption Spectre will do similar numbers to Skyfall, which made made $1.108 billion, becoming the second highest grossing film of 2012. And while Spectre will undoubtably be a hit (Bond always is), there's no chance it'll match its predecessor. The hype of the 50th Anniversary is gone and, whereas in 2012 Bond had the whole of autumn to itself, in 2015 it has The Hunger Games to contend with, making it only a lock-in just outside the top three. Of course, making $900 million on a Bond movie is incredible - before Skyfall the series had never passed $600 million - but when compared to 2012's mega-hit it'll be cited as a disappointment. Let's just hope this doesn't make the typically trigger-happy Sony think there was something wrong with the film and try and mess with the great work that's been done with the franchise recently.
