Predicting 15 Comic Book Movies Announced In 2018

There's been talk of bringing Blade back to the big screen for years, with Kevin Feige even hinting last year that he could join the MCU.

There are clearly a number of different approaches a Blade revival could take - a Netflix show, a Wesley Snipes-starring sequel, or rebooting him in an MCU movie - and given the sheer bada**ery of the character, it's certainly been long overdue.

It's hard to imagine Wesley Snipes ending up in the family-friendly MCU, so it's far more likely Blade either gets his own TV series or joins the franchise as a supporting character in somebody else's movie, before getting his own solo flick.

This is certainly one of the more ambitious and hopeful predictions on this list, sure, but with Black Panther proving beyond any doubt the incredible box office viability of black superheroes - shocking! - what better time to confirm a Blade movie for Phase 4 of the MCU? After all, Black Panther was announced more than three years before it finally came out.

Again, Marvel Studios may well hold off on any new announcements until after Avengers 4, but with Blade clearly having no part of that movie, his role in Phase 4 could be announced without spoiling anything.

There will be hand-wringing about a PG-13 Blade, sure, but it's hard to imagine Marvel Studios resisting the Daywalker much longer.
