Predicting 20 Comic Book Movies Announced In 2017
10. The Fantastic Four
Though Simon Kinberg keeps talking about his desire to retain the cast of the failed reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise, the more time passes after that unfortunate mess, the less likely Fox are to spirit a sequel into production.
Some have said that will open the door for Marvel to make a deal with the studio similar to the one they cut with Sony for Spider-Man, to bring Marvel's first family back home, but that is limited to rumours for now.
Still, either Fox are going to have to state their intention to make a sequel or a reboot or Marvel will reclaim the rights at some point, so expect something to happen.
Evidence?
Kinberg likes to talk about Fox's upcoming projects, and while the last we heard he said it might be a while before a sequel happened, it definitely sounds like it's still a topic of conversation.
And as for another homecoming? Back when it was reported that Fox and Marvel were in discussion over the rights for the Hellfire Club and Legion, there were some rumblings that the deal might set a foundation for Fantastic Four to follow. That was little more than excited speculation, and so far there's little more to report on that front.
