Predicting 20 Comic Book Movies Announced In 2017

9. Guardians Of The Galaxy 3

If Thor: Ragnarok can exist after Thor: The Dark World became the worst MCU movie released to date, there's no way anyone should rule out the possibility of a Guardians Of The Galaxy trilogy.

The most surprising and critically adored MCU movie (which is still the best released so far) hasn't yet had its first sequel released, but conversations are already being steered towards the probability of a third. It feels like a logical matter of time, assuming they aren't all killed off in Infinity War.

They won't be.

Evidence?

Whether James Gunn directors or not, Kevin Feige seems pretty confident a third Guardians movie is happening - as he said to io9:

“We’re only working on what’s been announced through the end of 2019. And it is still a big chess board for 2020 and beyond, but certainly I would say Guardians 3 is one film that’s up there. I don’t know what exactly the order will be.”

Having said that, Gunn has just told Fandango that people shouldn't count their hens, in case his sequel sucks:

"People are obsessed about the third one and they haven't even seen the second one yet! What if they all hate the second one? Then they're not going to be so obsessed anymore. It's all about what's in the future; it's never about what we have right now. I think if anything, this Guardians is about what they are in this moment -- and I think that's what it's been like for me working on the movie. It really isn't about thinking down the road and how can we make something great someday - it's how can we make something great right now in this moment that will affect people's lives for the better. That's what Vol. 2 is."
