Predicting 20 Comic Book Movies Announced In 2017
3. Blade
Some Blade fans might say that the Day Walker deserves to join the Netflix Marvel universe to give him the benefit of an R-Rating and room for more supernatural elements than the mainstream MCU would allow, but it would be a shame if there wasn't another Blade movie.
With Guillermo Del Toro no longer making Hellboy 3 (for definite this time), he'd be the ideal candidate to take up the reigns on the franchise once again. And there is no reason why Marvel can't produce movies that don't sit within the mainline MCU, if they feel like introducing vampires would be too silly.
But then again, it's not like a vampire is any less outrageous than Dormammu or the Gods of Asgard...
Evidence?
Looking at Wesley Snipes' Twitter account, you'd think that Marvel's new Blade project was already set in stone. For a while there, it was his favourite topic of conversation, even when no-one else was talking about it.
The Marvel side of the discussion is notably quiet, but with three movies out this year, you can expect them to be pretty busy. The timing of Spider-Man: Homecoming's release and the dates for this year's Comic Con make a big Marvel presence there feel inevitable. So maybe that's where we'll hear about it?
