Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of 2026's Biggest Movies
1. Avengers: Doomsday (71%)
Fascinatingly the single biggest movie of the year is also one of the toughest to call.
Avengers: Doomsday is obviously hugely anticipated for re-assembling dozens and dozens of superheroes to face off against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, but the potential for this one to be a big ol' mess also speaks for itself.
Beyond the mind-boggling number of characters the film will need to juggle, there's the perceived desperation of bringing Downey back to play a new character, the explanation for which needs to be water-tight.
With the MCU on a critical downturn in recent years, expect reviewers to be less generous with Doomsday compared to the three prior Avengers movies.
After all, returning directors Anthony and Joe Russo have helmed three films since Avengers: Endgame - Cherry, The Gray Man, and The Electric State - each of which were critically panned.
The sheer fan-serving bombast of it all will probably help Doomsday score a ton of "it's fine" three-star reviews, but also expect many to simply find it exhausting.
