Predicting How 2020's Biggest Movies Will End

8. The X-Men Are Teased - The Eternals

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's The Eternals is set to wrap shooting in early 2020, and one of the more intriguing - and oddly plausible - rumours doing the rounds right now is that the film's customary post-credits scene will tease the existence of the X-Men in the MCU.

While it's incredibly unlikely we'd actually see any of the X-Men themselves make an appearance, a hint at the presence of mutants would be a great way to calm anxious fans waiting for them to finally join the fray.

It's already been confirmed that the film will chronicle the creation of the Eternals by the Celestials, and given that the Celestials also created the mutants in the comics, this would clearly be the most organic movie to start introducing them.

By the time The Eternals hits screens next November, audiences will have had a solid 18 months to get the taste of Dark Phoenix out of their mouths, and so getting the ball rolling late next year isn't hard to believe at all.

Then we can get casting announcements and pre-production in 2021 before shooting for a 2022 or 2023 release. Simple.
