Predicting How 2020's Biggest Movies Will End

7. Michael Kills Laurie's Daughter - Halloween Kills

It's tough to know exactly what to make of the two upcoming Halloween movies, given that last year's new sequel provided a pretty fitting conclusion to Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers' story.

Or it would have, were it not for Michael's surprise disappearance from that burning basement in the movie's final moments.

But a film that financially successful was never going to be the end, and so we now have Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends due for release over the next two years.

If we consider these films to be part of a contemporary Halloween trilogy-of-sorts, then it follows that Halloween Kills will be the Empire Strikes Back of the series, if you like: the darkest and most hopeless of the three, as reflected by its ominous title.

And what could be more haunting for Laurie than to suffer through the death of her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) at the end of the movie?

It'd certainly provide a fitting cliffhanger to set up the third and "final" Halloween of the trilogy, with a guilt-ridden Laurie looking to bury Michael once and for all.

Honestly, there aren't many other options, beyond following the usual tired shtick of "killing" Michael only for him to sneak off again at the last minute.

Having Michael effectively "win" would be a neat twist on the formula, and ensure that Halloween Ends could hit the ground running for a (hopefully) barnstorming final chapter.
