Why It'll Happen: The first film overcame a lot of skepticism from box office analysts and went on to gross $773.3 million, and considering how often sequels out-gross their predecessors, the box office power of the MCU and the movie's excellent marketing so far, this one's going to be huge.

It's also important to note it has no competition releasing two weeks ahead of it, and the only thing coming out the week after is Guy Ritchie's terrible-looking King Arthur movie.

Why It Might Not: Perhaps Guardians will enjoy a more marginal increase on the original than predicted, especially if the reviews aren't quite as stellar as most are surely anticipating
