2. Despicable Me 3 ($1.2 Billion)

Why It'll Happen: With Despicable Me 2 making $970.7 million and Minions pulling in an insane $1.15 billion, don't bank on the series backpedaling just yet.

It's hard to imagine the series flying much higher than this and so it could very well represent its peak, but what a peak that would be.

Why It Might Not: Some viewers are definitely getting rather fatigued with the Minions, so that backlash could result in grosses going slightly down (depending upon how much they actually appear in the film), but there's no way it doesn't make the year's top 10 either way.
