Predicting The 10 Highest Box Office Of 2015's Remaining Movies
9. Fantastic Four - $350m
The comic book movie remains one of the most popular and lucrative genres in Hollywood, with spandex-clad superheroes continuing to dominate the box office year after year. In fact, since 2012 there has been three comic book movies amongst the top ten highest-grossing titles at the worldwide box office. While it remains unlikely to reach similar heights, Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot is nonetheless poised to do solid business.
While the movie has been plagued by rumors of disharmony on set, the marketing campaign has wisely ditched the overly-serious tone of the first trailer and shown more glimpses of humor, while also playing up 20th Century Fox's connection to the X-Men franchise, a series that has brought the studio over $3bn at the box office so far.
The updated version of Marvel's dysfunctional family has also made a deliberate point of marking itself as vastly different to Tim Story's two Fantastic Four movies, which aren't held in particularly high regard. However, they did earn $330.6 and $289m at the box office respectively. If Trank's reboot scores some decent reviews and sells a similar number of tickets, then reaching the $350m mark is not out of the question.
