Predicting The 9 Star Wars Movies Currently In The Works

1. David Benioff And D. B. Weiss Explore The Old Republic

Although David Benioff and D. B. Weiss looked to have developed a stellar reputation thanks to their involvement in HBO's Game of Thrones, their next touted project - a bizarre alt-history series centred around the Confederate States of America in a world where the Civil War never 'ended' - didn't do them any favours.

Fortunately for them - and for Star Wars fans too, depending on how you feel about Game of Thrones - the duo are now developing their own stories centred in a galaxy far, far away. What they'll be about is anyone's guess, but with their project said to be unrelated to neither Johnson's nor the Sequel Trilogy as things stand, it'll at least be new.

One setting fans have been desperate to see in the new canon is Knights of the Old Republic. While it isn't new per se, having been the subject of a lauded video game series and a comic book spin-off too, it's a setting ripe for Benioff and Weiss to explore.

Disney have also incorporated some elements of the old timeline into the new canon as well, so who's to say we won't be seeing the likes of Malak, Revan and Zayne Carrick in the near future?
