Though the upcoming Blade Runner sequel has many fans as nervous as they are excited, betting against director Denis Villeneuve is a pretty bad idea right now, especially as he's roped in a magnificent cast along with veteran DP Roger Deakins.

There will surely be those who find parts of the movie obtuse or unsatisfying, as was true with the original, but it's still tough to see this not being one of the year's most intriguing and talked-about movies.
