Predicted Critical Consensus: "Tom Hardy undeniably gives it his all with a typically intense, physical performance, but even his fine effort can only partly compensate for a formulaic script and middling direction."

Tom Hardy is an excellent choice to play Eddie Brock aka Venom, so the tenacity of his performance is never going to be in doubt, but working with the immensely hit-and-miss director Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) is never a sure thing, so it really comes down to the script.

Mixed reviews are probably the safest bet all things considered, though also don't be that shocked if it swings 20% in either direction.
