Prey: 8 Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

In Prey, the spear makes its long-awaited return after being absent in the last two instalments of the Predator franchise. Also known as the combistick, it is a series staple and is often used by the Pred during its hunts. Though viewers might recall its movie debut in 1990's Predator 2, the weapon was actually introduced a year prior to that film.

The 1989 comic book Aliens vs. Predator featured a hunter named Broken Tusk who teams up with Mariko Noguchi. They band together to stop a Xenomorph invasion and the woman eventually gains the creature's respect. One of Broken Tusk's signature weapons in the comic was his spear that could detach itself into two. This feature was never used in the movies but in Prey, the Feral Predator can be seen using a similar detachable spear which he uses to deadly effect.

This Easter egg is a fun nod to the crossover event which fans of the comics will certainly appreciate. Though it may seem far-fetched now due to the quality of the movies released, the concept of Aliens versus Predator used to be a true dream for fans of both franchises.
