Prey: 8 Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed
6. Predator Vs. Bear
The Predator versus a bear was one of the most advertised aspects of Prey, and who could blame the marketing team? The final film even manages to live up to the hype in a sequence where an invisible Feral wrestles with the animal and kills it with a powerful punch. In less than five minutes, Dan Trachtenberg gave audiences one of the best scenes in the entire franchise.
But this isn't the first time the Predator fought a bear, as the alien hunter fought the mammal in 1997's Dark Horse comic, Predator: Primal. In this two-issue limited series, the Yautja fights a crazed grizzly in the remote Alaskan wilderness. The animal gives such a brutal fight to the Predator that the two even cause a raging forest fire. The comic ends with the bear victorious and the alien using his self-destruction device.
This concept would even continue in another comic book entitled Predator: Turnabout where the hunter fights even more bears. Prey honors the series' expanded universe by adapting these battles into live-action while recreating the comics' imagery.
