Project Power Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

1. It's A Refreshingly Standalone Superhero Movie

Virtually no superhero movies are designed as single, one-off outings, and while Project Power certainly hints at the possibility of future installments, it deserves praise for largely just trying to sell a standalone story.

Compare this to, well, the overwhelming majority of superhero films produced these days, which tirelessly try to build a cinematic universe and advertise a host of sequels before they've even finished making a single good movie.

Whether Project Power gets a sequel or not, it's truly refreshing to watch a film of this subject matter and not be bombarded with glorified advertisements for coming attractions.

The story could keep going or end where it is, but either way, what we get here works on its own merits without any other ulterior motive.
