Project Power Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

4. The Impressive Visual Effects

Though the majority of Netflix Original movies and TV shows are glossy and well-produced, it does have to be said that they often fall a hair short in the visual effects department.

Thankfully, that isn't the case at all with Project Power, which despite its seemingly mid-sized budget, delivers some of the most spectacular VFX-driven sequences of any film released this year.

Especially noteworthy is a set-piece in which Art faces off against criminal Newt (Machine Gun Kelly), who upon chugging some Power pills begins to "flame on" uncontrollably.

Even big-budget productions can make huge messes of challenging sequences such as this, but there's an unexpected crispness to the various power-centric set-pieces, even during the more typical third act.
