Ralph Breaks The Internet Review: 5 Ups & 4 Downs

3. The Strong Voice Acting

The entire voice cast gives it their all here, none more than the ever-brilliant John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman, who do their best to wring emotion from the script even when it doesn't quite hit its markers.

Silverman in particular makes the potentially grating Vanellope a sympathetic and likeable character, while Reilly's unfussed drawl is perfect for the downtrodden video game bad guy.

In addition to the other returning cast members, worth singling out are Gal Gadot as Slaughter Race protagonist Shank, Taraji P. Henson as video algorithm overseer Yesss and Alan Tudyk (who played King Candy in the first film) as the over-eager search engine KnowsMore.

Again, it's a shame there isn't more for them to work with overall, but there's not a single phoned-in performance among the lot.
