Rambo: Last Blood Review - 4 Ups & 5 Downs

4. The Sloppy Editing & Direction

Rambo Last Blood Sylvester Stallone
Lionsgate

On a technical level, this movie is all over the place. Though plenty of individual shots are decent enough, the overall product feels slapdash and thrown together by director Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo).

One suspects Grunberg didn't shoot enough coverage for many key scenes, as both major dramatic dialogues and action sequences alike are cut together in frustratingly choppy fashion.

Given that Stallone did a totally respectable job helming 2008's prior movie, it's a shame he didn't come back to tackle this one.

Instead, the sloppy construction only furthers the feeling that, despite the script being co-written by Stallone himself, nobody behind the camera really cared enough about the movie.
