Ranking: 10 Highest Grossing Movies Of Summer 2017

9. Transformers: The Last Knight

Transformers 5 Last Knight
Paramount

Box Office: $601.1 million (#7)

The latest Transformers movie may have ended up as the lowest-grossing entry into the franchise, but it still made money, even if the audience's Michael Bay fatigue has finally caught up with critics'.

The fifth Transformers is utterly braindead in every way that an action movie about giant robots, Nazis and Anthony Hopkins playing a "Transformer historian" possibly can be, but it does benefit somewhat from its go-for-broke mentality, and a pronounced lack of sexism compared to, well, every other movie in the series.

It's also not obscenely overlong, has less embarrassing humour, and looks and sounds great, even if you'll probably still feel more exhausted than entertained by the end.
