Ranking 9 Biggest Two-Part Movies From Worst To Best

8. Attack On Titan

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows
Toho Pictures

The Attack on Titan animated series (and the manga upon which it is based) has been hailed as a modern classic. Its storytelling is rooted in character, first and foremost. Thus, when the characters fight the Titans, the action is emotionally-charged and has real stakes to it.

However, the live-action film doesn't have time for this. The two-part-film series attempts to tell the first half of season one's story and winds up doing it an incredible disservice. Rather than focusing on characters, the first part jumps head-first into the Titan action, gore, and violence. And with a character-roster as lengthy as an Avengers film, audiences are never even given the chance to learn their names, much less come to care about them.

The second part just grows more ludicrously over-sized and more in love with its own set pieces, rather than its characters. The result is over four hours of story between the two films, but not even as much character development as a single episode of the series.
