1. Captain America: Civil War
This one is an Avengers movie in everything but name only. Civil War is one of the most talked about Marvel events of all-time, with fans either loving or hating it, but there's no denying it's a compelling concept with real world implications. Marvel is throwing out all the big guns for this one, bringing in established characters Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Ant-Man and more, in addition to the introduction of several new ones. The basis of Civil War - assuming it follows the comic - is that an event occurs which causes public sentiment toward superheroes to shift in the negative direction. In the wake of the backlash the President calls for accountability and looks to Tony Stark to usher in the Superhero Registration Act, forcing all powered men and women to register with the government. This causes a fundamental divide between Captain America and Iron Man, and soon battle lines are drawn and the respective sides go to war over their ideologies. The introduction of Spider-Man is easily the most newsworthy addition to the MCU with Tom Holland donning the web-shooters and taking over the role of the wall-crawler. Marvel brokering a deal to include Spidey in their universe was gigantic, as he's one of the most beloved comic characters in history and his last two movies were met with disappointment. Hopefully we're not subjected to another retelling of his origin story and instead web-swing right into the action. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was arguably the best of the MCU films, and having the Russo brothers back directing is cause for excitement, as well as their taking over the Avengers franchise. The situation between Cap and Bucky still has to be resolved and an outside threat of Crossbones must be dealt with before we can get to the family split that drives Civil War. Will the move version end with the death of an icon in the same way the comic storyline did? We'll have to wait until May 6th, 2016 to find out. Do you agree with the order? If not, how would you rank these movies? Sound off in the comments.
