Undoubtedly, Friday the 13th Part III is one of the better entries in the F13 franchise, with this famously the movie that first saw Jason Voorhees don the hockey mask that would go become his trademark. This threequel is also a picture that served up one of the series' greatest protagonists in the shape of Chris Higgins (Dana Kimmell).

What makes Chris particularly noteworthy, is that she managed to escape the clutches of Jason twice - with it revealed how she had fled her family's home two years prior after an encounter with Voorhees.

Here in Part III, the early goings establish Chris as one of the more meek and mild members of the film's group of protagonists. In doing that, it makes it all the more impressive to see Kimmell's character evolve as the movie plays out and she starts to take the fight directly to Jason.

That "directly to Jason" would culminate in Chris beating her tormenter with a shovel, hanging him, and then wedging an axe in his head.

On a slightly less fortunate note for Chris Higgins, though, the closing seconds of the movie suggest she's had a complete mental breakdown after this experience; her last seen in a frenzied, erratic state as the police drive her to safety.
