8. Rennie - Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

Your scribe here will forever defend the oft-mocked Jason Takes Manhattan, but admittedly that movie's final girl is a so-so character at best.

Played by Jensen Daggett, Rennie is a character who has the honour of having knocked off Jason's hockey mask and exposed his disfigured face, which was a pivotal part of Part VIII's finale. The thing is, throughout the rest of the film, we so often find Rennie only surviving situations due to the assistance of others.

Where Rennie does have some further positives, though, is in how she manages to overcome her own fear of water during the picture, whilst also just about keeping out of the clutches of her creepy uncle throughout her school class' boat trip to New York.

By the end of Jason Takes Manhattan, Rennie throws some well-placed New York toxic waste into Jason's face, causing him to lose his mask, melt his face, and somehow revert Jason back to a scared, sobbing infant in a Manhattan sewer tunnel.

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, man. Such a truly bonkers entry in the F13 franchise. But hey, at least it's not Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday - this film's follow-up that makes Jason Takes Manhattan look like a masterpiece.
