Ranking All Of Sean Bean's Movie Deaths From Lamest To Best

10. Don't Say A Word - Buried Alive By A Mound Of Dirt

Michael Douglas, Brittany Murphy and Sean Bean star in the 2001 crime thriller Don't Say A Word. The story focuses on Patrick (Bean), a jewel thief who, after being double-crossed by his band of merry criminals, is desperately on the hunt for a rare gem he had stolen 10 years earlier.

At a stand off with the police by the gem's burial site, Patrick shoots one of the detectives and, taking advantage of the confusion, gets pushed into the mass grave by Nathan (Douglas). He then triggers the mechanism which covers Patrick in dirt and quite literally, sends him to his grave (2:11 on the video).

In terms of rating, I would firmly say that being buried alive is a butt-load more brutal than being shot in the face for a few reasons:

1) It's a slow way to go

2) You're either crushed to death or suffocated

3) Dirt is icky

I suppose on the plus side you get to be a tasty meal for some worms just trying to provide for their families. Considering the slow nature of the death and the way his life flashes before his eyes, it makes it to the top 10.

Brutality: 9/10

Ouchie Scale: 7.5/10

Fear Factor: 8/10
