RottenTomatoes Score: 94% (7.7/10)

Box Office: Made for a hefty $175 million, The Jungle Book has dominated the box office through April, just recently passing $600 million worldwide, ensuring it'll easily end up as one of the year's highest-grossing films.

Verdict: Director Jon Favreau defies the odds to deliver a remake of Disney's classic animation that arguably outdoes it in just about every way.

One of the most visually stunning films ever made, The Jungle Book takes CGI to the next level with some of cinema's most lifelike animal creations, aided by superb voice work from an insane cast, including Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Scarlett Johansson and Idris Elba.

This take manages to combine the heart of the original tale with an extra dash of grit, making this a riveting, emotionally resonant tale for all ages (except perhaps the very youngest kids, due to the intensity).
