Ranking April 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best
1. Sing Street
RottenTomatoes Score: 97% (8.1/10)
Box Office: Made for a budget so low it's not even been disclosed, the musical comedy has impressively pulled in $1.7 million so far.
Verdict: Once director John Carney returns with another spry, spirited, emotionally involving musical that's sure to put a spring in your step and a song in your heart.
Though it repeats a lot of the beats from Carney's previous works, they still prove mostly effective thanks to the charming characters, excellent performances and memorable songs, such that Sing Street is a crowd-pleaser that doesn't try too hard, but still really works.
Don't be surprised if it ends up scoring Carney another Academy Award victory for Best Original Song, because some of these songs will be in your head for days.
