Verdict: Dave Franco gives a heartbreaking performance as a heroin addict struggling to stay clean for the sake of his daughter, in this stripped-down, 74-minute drama that wastes no time and pulls no punches.

Co-star Abbi Jacobson also turns in fantastic work as his sister, forced to go to some incredibly dark places in order to keep her brother alive.

The surreal stylistic affectations don't really work - there's a recurring visual metaphor where the sister sees herself drowning that feels incredibly on-the-nose - but as a straight piece of dramatic storytelling, it's poignant and tough to shake.
