Ranking April 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

16. Death Wish

Death Wish
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

RottenTomatoes Score: 17% (3.9/10)

Box Office: Even with a sensibly modest $30 million budget, this remake of the iconic revenge classic nobody asked for has just barely cracked $40 million worldwide. With his increasing appearances in straight-to-VOD thrillers, clearly Bruce Willis' box office stock is not what it once was.

Verdict: An utterly miserable attempt to reboot the long-dormant franchise, Eli Roth's talents as a schlock maestro are totally wasted on this insanely boring, forgettable revenge romp with a weirdly sadistic tone and a Bruce Willis performance bordering on sleepwalking.

Minor props to Vincent D'Onofrio and Dean Norris for making the film more watchable than it probably should be. Mercifully, there won't be a sequel at least.
