Ranking August 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

15. Fantastic Four

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 8% (3.4/10 average score) Box Office: Despite being projected to rake in $40-50 million in its opening weekend, Fantastic Four made just $26.2 million, less than half of the two previous movies. To date, it's just barely exceeded its $120 million budget, making it one of the year's biggest blockbuster flops. Don't be surprised if it fails to cross $200 million worldwide, yet incredulously, Fox is apparently still intent to press on with a sequel... The Verdict: Given how much was made of the behind-the-scenes drama between Fox and director Josh Trank, it's hardly surprising that this one didn't work, but did anyone expect something quite this messy? From the awful depiction of Doom (Toby Kebbell) to the poor visual effects, missing scenes from the trailers, jarring time leaps, atrocious editing and horrendous pacing, it makes almost every mistake that a superhero movie can, trying to reinvent the foursome in gritty fashion but failing on pretty much every level. Hopefully Fox will finally admit defeat and just let the rights revert to Marvel.
