Ranking August 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best

3. Little Men

Suicide Squad Nine Lives Kubo And The Two Strings
Magnolia Pictures

RottenTomatoes Score: 97% (8.1/10)

Box Office: The official budget hasn't yet been disclosed, but even with Variety calling it "startlingly small", the current $230k worldwide gross almost certainly won't be enough to make it a success.

Verdict: Another impeccable drama from Ira Sachs (Keep the Lights On, Love is Strange) with a terrific central dilemma, Little Men may see the director once again focusing on white, middle-class woes to a degree that will turn some off, but it's hard not to see the honesty in his work.

Greg Kinnear is particularly excellent here and again proves why he should be a much bigger star, and though Sachs' sedate approach to character and incident won't be for all, the movie's impassioned riff on the gentrification problem is hard to shake.
