Ranking December 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

18. Mortal Engines

Mortal Engines
Universal

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 27% (4.9/10)

Box Office: With an estimated budget of anywhere from $100-150 million, Mortal Engines has scarcely crossed the $60 million mark worldwide, making it one of the biggest and most predictable box office misfires of the year.

Estimates suggest that Universal could lose up to $150 million once marketing costs are factored in. Yikes.

Verdict: As expected, Mortal Engines was a stylish yet hollow and laughably generic young adult adaptation, wasting a game cast on the usual forgettable fantasy slop, devoid of much character or basic human interest.

Ironically, the most human element of the movie was an undead robotic soldier created entirely with CGI. Go figure.
