6. Scarlet Witch Vs. Doctor Strange And Wong In Kamar-Taj
The best aspect of having Sam Raimi at the helm is that this movie becomes leathered with B-Movie horror stylings perfect for movies about sorcerers and witches. Now that Wanda has now gone full-on Wicked Witch, we can really cut loose on some horror imagery around her.
In this case, when Wanda is using the many reflections around the room to teleport around and pulls in unsuspecting sorcerers in quick succession, she feels like the shark from Jaws. Then when she finally enters the real world through a large reflection, she comes out slowly with limbs disfigured, like Samara from The Ring.
Wanda in this movie is scary. A good move on the movie’s part is that when she faces Doctor Strange and Wong, they’re no match but she is not so overpowered that they cannot believably turn the tides if Wanda makes a mistake or if the heroes make an unsuspecting move.
Wanda almost had America in her clutches, only for Strange and America to escape at the last minute, leaving Wong to fend for himself.
