Ranking Every Billion Dollar Movie - From Worst To Best

11. Jurassic Park

BD Wong Sam Neill Jurassic Park
Universal Pictures

Box Office: $1,029,939,903

For a whole generation of film fans, the moment you first saw the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park was one of those definitive red letter moments in your life as a cinephile. On the big screen, the effects that brought those creatures to life were simply stunning and felt completely unprecedented.

But Jurassic Park isn't simply a technical marvel, it's also a perfect blend of old-school monster movie story-telling, the best of disaster movie making and truly great characters - including the hugely charismatic dinosaurs themselves. It's basically one big chase movie, with an Indiana Jones type trapped amongst walking dino-bait and there will probably never be another blockbuster that manages to be capture both story-telling magic and that kind of jaw-dropping effects work in equal measure.

It was so good that the brand was able to survive two roundly criticised sequels before Jurassic World course corrected too.
