Ranking Every Billion Dollar Movie - From Worst To Best

12. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2

Harry Potter Voldemort Death
Warner Bros. Pictures

Box Office: $1,341,511,219

No matter how hard you argue that The Deathly Hallows should have just been one long movie, the excellence of the second half of the final Harry Potter chapter more than makes up for the slower pace of the first.

This was the culmination of a franchise - both films and books - that meant more to fans than simple escapism: it was affirmation in story form, and the ending needed to match expectations. Thankfully, it mostly did, with the Battle Of Hogwarts certainly living up to the hype (though it would have been nice to see Grawp in action).

The emotional punches come thick and fast, the personal and broader conflicts are spell-binding and watching Ralph Fiennes have that much fun as Voldemort at his peak power is enormously rewarding.
