Ranking Every DC Comic Book Movie From Worst To Best

29. Steel

DC Movies
Warner Bros

For years, Steel was the whipping boy of DC's stable of comic book adaptations, and frankly, it deserved everything it got.

For some reason, someone at Warner Bros decided that casting basketball superstar Shaquille O'Neal as the titular hero was a good move, missing the fact that he cannot act, and also that he can barely move, despite being a sportsman. The reasoning for having him appear in a movie is pretty sound, given how imposing he is, but putting him as the lead was just a disaster.

Steel is basically DC's Iron Man with the same weapons developer grows a conscience and then is forced to battle a former colleague with nefarious intentions for his weapons. Except in place of Robert Downey Jr's charisma, we get a lumbering oaf in a comically fudged story that smashes all potential into the floor with a lazy slam-dunk.
