Ranking Every DC Comic Book Movie From Worst To Best

9. Watchmen

DC Movies
Warner Brothers

For every bad move Zack Snyder has made since, Watchmen has a great stroke and an unprecedented commitment to detail that should remind everyone precisely why he was chosen to lead the DCEU. Obviously, that hiring missed the point that Snyder's adaptation of Alan Moore's comic is THE anti-comic book movie, commenting from a post-superhero position about the end of superheroism, but hey, at least we can all see it in retrospect.

Buoyed by a perfect cast (apart from the God-awful Malin Akerman) - and in particular Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the always under-rated Patrick Wilson and Jackie Earle Haley - Snyder's vision for the unadaptable comic is ironically pretty conventional. But it's all about style and swagger - things that have got out of hand since, as it happens - and it's still a great watch.

The subsequent cuts are no more than self-congratulating bluster, but the original theatrical cut is a solid 4 star movie.
