Ranking Every DC Movie Villain From Worst To Best
31. Lex Luthor - Jesse Eisenberg (Batman V Superman)
For all of Batman v Superman's faults, the performances are mostly good. Ben Affleck is great, Henry Cavill is good given what he's given to do and Gal Gadot and Jeremy Irons are both impressive. Even Scoot McNairy and Holly Hunter shine with limited screen time.
Jesse Eisenberg, however, is terrible. There had been some hope that his manic Zuckerberg clone might be just a public act to hide a more typical, ice-cold undercurrent, but apparently the frenetic waters ran deep. That identity conflict would have been too subtle by far for Snyder's messy story-telling anyway.
It's almost as if Eisenberg genuinely thought he was supposed to be playing the Riddler, seeking proof of his superiority over Superman and Batman and pulling strings. That might actually have worked better, but instead we got an annoying scrappy do brat with daddy issues, no real motivation and a startlingly bad security team.
