The brilliantly formed ending we all wanted for Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows Part 2 is, as conclusions to franchises go, a real masterclass.

An exhilarating, brilliantly emotional and masterfully crafted finale that ties everything up in an entirely satisfying way, Deathly Hallows Part 2 is both an unforgettably epic, bad-ass action extravaganza and a thoroughly effective showcase of sublime emotional storytelling.

It's a dark, haunting and frequently heart-breaking viewing experience that is, nonetheless, also full of joy, laughter and uproarious thrills that lead to a wonderfully poignant, thrilling ending that'll have viewers grinning ear to ear amidst all the tears.

It's an exceptionally well-rounded and well-told final chapter and the writing, directing and acting (especially from Alan Rickman, who really deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance as Snape) were rarely better anywhere else in the series.

It does suffer a bit from being a somewhat exhausting two-hour third act (once again, Deathly Hallows should've been one film), which is why it's not at the top spot, but otherwise it hits its targets with aplomb.

No matter how many badly-written stage sequels or unwanted Fantastic Beasts flicks are inflicted upon us, Deathly Hallows Part 2 will always shine brightly as an exemplary ending to a much-loved story, as well as one of the greatest franchise endings of all time.
