When it comes to memorable henchmen, it's hard to overlook the diminutive Nick Nack. His lack of height is played for laughs on several occasions, but it's a testament to Nick Nack's tenacity that he's able to avoid being characterised so simply.

As Francisco Scaramanga's valued manservant, Nick Nack stands to earn a fortune should the golden-gunned assassin happen to get killed by one of his handpicked hitmen.

It's a curious arrangement he has with his master - but it's Scaramanga's way to keep himself on his toes. When your own servant is actively trying to arrange your death, you're never short of opportunities to hone your legendary accuracy.

When James Bond enters the picture, Nick Nack must be jumping for joy. Finally, he thinks, a man with the ability to bring Scaramanga down, and in doing so, making Nick Nack very rich.

Of course, this is Bond. He doesn't just kill Scaramanga, he (with the help of Mary Goodnight) destroys his entire island estate - which Nick Nack had been waiting years to inherit.

No wonder he's so angry in the film's final scenes, where the scrappy fellow comes close to murdering Bond in retribution.

Chest thumping James Bond and Haruki Murakami fanatic living in China. Once had a fever dream about riding a rowboat with Davos Seaworth. He hasn't updated this section since Game of Thrones was cool, and boy does it show.
