Ranking Every Jim Carrey Movie Worst To Best
25. The Dead Pool (1988)
Though generally accepted to be the worst of the five Dirty Harry movies - and also, aptly, the last - The Dead Pool is still pretty good.
Clint Eastwood's Harry Callahan finds himself investigating a celebrity dead pool game in San Francisco which he comes to discover is being manipulated by a serial killer.
Eastwood is as reliably gruff as ever, while there are fun supporting roles for Patricia Clarkson and Liam Neeson, but the film is probably best remembered for Jim Carrey's surprise cameo as shock rocker-turned-actor Johnny Squares.
Carrey sings along to Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" and then dies of a heroin overdose. It's a fun little cameo that kinda-sorta shows off his wider range beyond zany comedy.
24. Yes Man (2008)
Ant-Man director Peyton Reed preceded the MCU with this brilliantly-premised comedy which, despite not nearly realising the full potential of its promise, is a solidly fun time.
Carrey plays Carl, a man who decides to say "yes!" to every opportunity that is presented to him.
Though it doesn't take long for the setup to strain credibility, Carrey gamely attempts to wring every drop of comedy from the so-so script, which is just sweet-natured and heartfelt enough.
Yes Man was widely criticised upon release by for being too similar to Liar Liar - and wholly inferior, too - and while a valid complaint, Reed and Carrey still milk just enough from the hook to make it work.
