Ranking Every Jim Carrey Movie Worst To Best
5. The Mask (1994)
Perhaps no film in Carrey's filmography is as perfectly suited to his energy levels as The Mask, which despite concealing him behind a transformative green mask for large chunks of the movie, never feels wanting for his presence.
Between his dynamo of a performance, an array of groundbreaking and surprisingly well-aged effects, and a superb femme fatale performance from a debuting Cameron Diaz, The Mask is a gonzo riot.
Even today it remains one of the most bravura and visually creative superhero movies ever made, packed with iconic one-liners sure to lodge themselves in viewers' brains until the end of time.
4. Man On The Moon (1999)
Criminally underappreciated by both critics and audiences upon release, in a just world Man on the Moon would've netted Carrey a Best Actor Oscar nomination after being egregiously snubbed for The Truman Show the year prior.
Carrey did at least win the Golden Globe for Best Actor and receive a Best Actor nomination from the Screen Actors Guild, his portrayal of iconic comedian Andy Kaufman proving one of the most frighteningly spot-on biopic performances of the last 25 years.
Though the film's script certainly could've given Carrey more of an emotional dimension to work with, he is a phenom, a force-of-nature as Kaufman, turning in a performance of more composure and restraint than many at the time believed possible from him.
Say what you will about Carrey's famously difficult method acting on the set of the movie, but it produced all-timer results.
